Lose the Belly Fat!

One of my most popular blog posts had to do with belly fat so I know it is a concern.  Here are a few more tips to lose your middle.

Step #1: STOP DRINKING YOUR CALORIES. Any calories coming from liquids are empty calories that add to your overall intake without providing and nutritional value. The only fluid you need in your body is water, which can aid in flushing fat out of your system. If you get tired of water, try the new Mio, it adds flavor without calories.

Step # 2: Keep variety in your exercise routine. Running for an hour five days a week is great, but it will NOT give you the results you want. Why? Because your body is used to it. Your body will respond to any stimulus you throw at it within a few weeks. If you continue to challenge your body in different ways, it will constantly strive to adjust without settling into those dreaded weight loss plateaus.

Step #3:  Distribute your meals into four or five portions throughout the day. Stuffing yourself in one sitting can have devastating results. 1000 calories in one meal is drastically different than 1000 calories over the course of a day. Your metabolism is your best friend in shedding unwanted body fat, so keep it running consistently by feeding it the right amount of energy throughout the day.

Step #4: Move your body after every meal. The worst thing you can do after eating is nothing. Take a 10-15 minute walk after eating will jumpstart your metabolism and start using that energy immediately. If you don't do this, you will literally keep your body in a constant state of fat storage.

Step #5: Remind yourself EVERY DAY why you want to make these changes.  Make your mind more positive towards the goal and erase all the negativity from your surroundings. You need to keep a total positive attitude in whatever you do. If you lose sight of what you really want to accomplish, you will stop. Re-visit your vision every day and you’ll find yourself always working toward improvement.
This all may or may not be news to you, but are you doing these things every day? Change your choices and change your life!
